Richard Lee is a partner and the U.S. Leader of the Infrastructure Advisory group at KPMG LLP, the audit, tax and advisory firm. In that role, he has overall responsibility for KPMG's services in the U.S. infrastructure sector.

Lee is an experienced advisor to private equity investor groups and strategic buyers on infrastructure mergers and acquisitions. His expertise includes financial due diligence, accounting advice and structuring consultation. Lee's particular sector focus includes ports, car parks, and toll roads.

Lee holds an MBA from the Columbia Graduate School of Business, and a BS degree from Georgetown University. He is also a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and AICPA.

KPMG's Global Infrastructure practice has extensive local and global experience advising government organizations, contractors, operators, and investors in planning, structuring and management of new infrastructure investments; procurement and financing support; improvement and monitoring of construction and operations; restructuring of distressed projects; investment due diligence assistance; and infrastructure related audit, tax, accounting and compliance issues.

RE: How Can Government More Effectively Deliver Infrastructure Projects?

As the backlog of unfunded infrastructure projects grows, there is a greater need for both the public and private sectors to consider ways to improve the infrastructure delivery process. Given limited sources of funding, coupled with enormous infrastructure needs for both maintenance and new capacity projects, the effectiveness of the delivery process will potentially have a significant impact on America’s infrastructure.
